BB Contracts were appointed in May 2016 by Realstar Living to work on the refurbishment of a Student Accommodation Block in Shoreditch, London. The plan was to give this city centre building a full refurbishment – to the tune of a £1.5m spend……..over the 13 week summer recess. Certainly a challenge, noting that the property has 8 floors and a basement area and 164 studios. Never shy of test BB Contracts engaged fully with the client team from day 1 to make sure their vision became a reality. The programme was certainly tight and the site logistics compromising but everyone involved worked seamlessly as a team and the project successfully completed in mid-September. It is now fully occupied by Students ‘living the dream’. The BB Contracts Team on this project, led by Mark Brown, included Gary Taylor, Noel Miller, Dave Weller and Billy Horton – with others joining during workload peaks.
