Project

Kew College Richmond

Extension and Refurbishment

Value: £1.1m

Programme: 43 Weeks

BB Contracts were appointed to extend and refurbish Kew College's newly acquired site at 30 Cumberland Road in early 2016 following a successful tender bid.

We completed the works in January 2017 which comprised significant alterations and a full refurbishment exercise to this circa 150 year old building. In the process this existing residential building was converted into to a modern teaching facility. The scheme was designed by Oliver West & John Scott Architects with the help of BTA Structural Design and Mendick Waring Consulting Engineers . The Client was also supported by Listers Chartered Quantity Surveyors, Oculus Building Consultancy (Approved Inspector) and AGA CDM Advisors.  The design was sympathetic to the original elements of the building, whilst managing to successfully incorporate many new features. BB Contracts were proud to have secured this £1.1m education project to add to their notable portfolio of schemes in the sector.

‘From inception to closure of the contract our experience was of a highly competent, professional team who actually cared how we felt about the final product. We are thrilled with the outcome, and also commend BB’s efficient and effective response to snagging. Who could ask for more! ‘
